I have been playing piano and music since I was 5 years old. The instrument that opened me to my own music was didgeridoo when I was 24. From that point on, it’s been a love fest with different instruments (djembe, Arabic tambourine, buffalo drum, frame drums, harmonium, harmonica, flute) and learning how to play them and how they resonate in different parts of my body. I grew up on Western classical and listened to a lot of pop and rock as a kid. Later, I studied tabla and esraj in India at Viswa Bharati University and that opened up a whole different sound palette. I specialize in world fusion music. You can hear my influences of Western classical, gospel, the blues, rock, Indian ragas, Middle Eastern, West African, and shamanic sounds when I play.
When I sing and play music, I transmit the love frequency. Whether I’m expressing sadness, joy, healing, protest, playfulness, or yearning, it’s with intention to connect with listeners and open up these vibrational centers.
I have been creating improvisational healing soundscapes for yoga classes for almost 10 years and also give healing sound baths for individuals and groups. I bring in the many instruments I play and tune people from root to crown. I also facilitate rites of passage and play music and sing for baby blessings, weddings, funerals, and other major transitions. I have recorded several albums and compose music for films, DVDS and other projects.
I hope to touch you with my music!
