Amber has been teaching and performing for nearly a decade. She takes great pride in offering music as a tool for personal and societal transformation. Lessons are tailored to her students’ varying needs and reflect her commitment to their musical paths and journeys. Amber is available to teach absolute beginners to high intermediate students.

Music Lessons:

  • Didgeridoo and circular breathing
  • Tabla
  • Djembe
  • Arabic tambourine (riq) and belly dancing rhythms
  • Esraj
  • Harmonium
  • Bhajans
  • Percussive soloing and accompanying techniques
  • Extensive rhythmic training

Musical Services:

  • Didgeridoo sound healings over chakras
  • Studio work
  • Music composition for films
  • Kirtan and devotional music services
  • Solo and band performances at weddings, private events, parties, & fundraisers
  • Live music (didgeridoo, drumming, vocals, esraj) in yoga classes
  • One-woman show performances at universities, community centers, and other venues

Amber charges $30/half hour and $60/hour. Sliding scale is available. She donates 10% to charity.

Video Work:

Amber also does videography work.She is available to direct, shoot, and edit videos. Past projects include:

  • Director, writer, editor of her short film "Jagadamba, Mother of the Universe" that has screened at the Queer Women of Color Film Festival in SF, Asian Adoptee Film Festival in Hawaii, and Austin Gay and Lesbian Film Festival
  • Assistant Director and principal camera operator for Michelle Alcedo's short film "Seeing Golda"
  • Cinematographer and principal camera operator for lida Shao's short film "If You Knew"
  • Principal camera operator for Helen Lin's short film "Lesbians Trying 2 Conceive"
  • Videographer for Open House's spring 2008 banquet
  • Co-director, writer, editor, and camera operator of "Border Out" June 2008 film on queer immigrants
  • Director, camera and editor of Claudine Naganuma's "Noodle Women" spring 2008 dance performance video
  • Director/editor of Minal Hajratwala's book trailer "Leaving India: My Family's Journey from 5 Villages to 5 Continents"
